My name is Angelina

Choreographer. Coach. Instructor. Dancer. Entrepreneur.

Angelina is a mother of three who grew up in the K.V area and after spending many years traveling abroad has settled back into her roots . She is fiercely passionate about dance, holistic health/fitness, and is an advocate for self esteem building and environmental awareness. Deeply intuitive, conscientious & empathetic – Angelina is forging her own path and building the space that was missing for her as a child. Having grown up in the time frame just before Hip Hop Dance hit the local studios, Angelina yearned for further resources, classes and teachers to help her develop her natural ability for urban dance. With no local classes available at that time, and being just before the rage of internet & youtube – the only hip hop dance resources available for her to study were Much Music Videos & Award show performances. Learning from videos & intuitive feel-, her hip hop style emerged and, initially, was almost entirely self taught.

After high school, Angelina spent many years traveling and working abroad in Europe & the Middle East. While away she had the amazing opportunity to attend numerous trainings, workshops, sessions and classes in multiple dance genres including (finally) hip hop. While living in Egypt, she had her first shot at teaching hip hop classes to children at the Sabirova Dance school.

Returning to Canada at the age of 24, she enrolled at Mount Allison University where she was drawn to philosophy & environmental studies. While there she was awarded a spot with Ominicinema contemporary dance , under the direction of Carmen Moreira , executive director of SQx Dance Company which included a tour. Having been subjected to rigorous body conditioning and intense training – Angelina credits this period of her life for instilling technique, self discipline, & performance skills . From this point in her life , her love of pilates & yoga also emerged.

Not long after returning home from university, Angelina started a family and simultaneously became a fitness leader and motivator. After stumbling into a Zumba Fitness class in Feb 2009 – she quickly crossed over into becoming a passionate leader , fusing together all of the genres she had learned abroad such as Bellydance, Cuban Salsa, Flamenco, ect combined with her passion for health & fitness to deliver top of the line classes. She also successfully pursued her Group Fitness Instructor & Bellyfit training. Angelina is also currently a Pilates Barre Instructor in training

While her journey with helping others via fitness was one of the most rewarding parts of her life, Angelina continued to feel the void for Hip Hop Dance. Angelina had a vision for the crew she wanted to be part of and decided to go ahead a build that dream.

Her first Hip Hop session for adults took place in October 2015 and the community continues to grow exponentially . Angelina retired from teaching Zumba Fitness in December 2016.
